Two East Boston youths, Chester Breese and W Fred Innes, 22, escaped a blazing 30 foot knockabout Skibo eight miles offshore near Egg Rock. Fire began from a cooking stove upset. the boat sank after a brief fire. Bay State offered aid but was declined. A fisherman named Mr Wright of West Lynn towed them into Nahant after hours in a tender. Both sailors are well known in Orient Heights and have built several yachts and launches.

Dog causes drownings near Pushaw Lake in Maine
In Bangor Maine on September 7 Leavitt Soncie aged 38 and his two sisters Mrs Peter Bishop 37 and Mrs Jerry Dubay 40 all of Old Town were drowned when a canoe with several occupants capsized after a large dog aboard began to frisk. Joseph Dugauy of Old Town survived.
