The 2:30 class produced exciting racing as B F Solon won in straight heats from a strong field. Tomorrow promises a good programme with three races and a balloon ascent expected to attract many spectators.
In Worcester tonight the hook and ladder tournament held with the New England fair under electric lights concluded with Natick taking first place. Spencer finished second and Westboro third. Natick completed the run in 6 9 4 5 seconds, Spencer in 6 1 4 5 seconds, and Westboro in 6 4 seconds.
Thomas Winters of Lynn was arrested in Nahant on a charge of throwing stones at a bath house. Bathers have recently complained of men frightening them with such actions, prompting the crackdown.
