Mrs Josiah Quincy widow of the late Boston mayor and Mrs Charles E McGowan of Brighton were injured when their car overturned on Temple Mountain road in Peterboro New Hampshire. Edmund Quincy and Mr McGowan were shaken but unharmed. Mrs McGowan were freed from the wreck and both women were treated for cuts and bruises. The women were en route to a Derby wedding.

Maurice Drummy aged 60 of 16 Lincoln park South Boston died in Carney Hospital from burns suffered when a lamp broke in the cellar of his home last night. He stumbled as he went down stairs for wood and burning oil spread over him while a lighted lamp was carried. Richard Coughlin and George Kelly heard groans and came to render aid. Drummy’s clothes were burned and much woodwork in the cellar was ablaze.
A jitney bus traveling between Saugus Centre and Malden barely escaped a collision with a Boston to Saugus train at a crossing near Saugus Centre. Fifteen passengers fled in panic as the bus crashed into lowered gates. driver Joseph Jagassa sped through just ahead of the oncoming locomotive to reach safety.
John E. Jacobs and his sons Joseph and M Albert Jacobs will be arraigned in connection with alleged swindles totaling about 16000. Indictments accuse them of selling escrowed stock and oil stocks not delivered to Victims Young Thurston of Andover Pardon Russell of New Bedford and Willard Cooper of Plymouth. They were bailed at 10000 each at Pemberton Square.
Dublin dispatch reports ongoing rebel activity with ambushes and destruction. Over the weekend bridges near Detterkenny were blown up and hay crops in South Tipperary burned. Castle Gore at Ballina, Mayo, the Earl of Arran’s historic seat, was burned to the ground Sunday.
President Harding announced the resignation of Associate Justice John H. Clarke from the United States Supreme Court with effect September 18 on his 65th birthday. The president also said he will nominate former Senator George H. Sutherland of Utah to succeed him.
