Tomas Owen, a carpenter, was working on a roof on the tenth street building when he fell from the three story structure yesterday. Fire department and medical staff attended to the injured worker. Further details on his condition and the accident are not available in the report.

An elderly resident of Kittanning Pennsylvania wrote to the treasury claiming that Washington Irving appeared as a government debtor in 1848 regarding a small balance from his post as minister to Spain. She sent 3 cents to settle the alleged debt, upheld by her assertion Irving was a scrupulously honest man, and the account was closed with receipt acknowledged.
