Savage knife attack on Mme Laperruque by servant in New York

Marie Bihler, a 49 year old Alsatian servant, attacked her mistress Emilie Rominger Laperruque with a knife in their West Thirty-fourth Street dress shop. Laperruque fought back, wounds were treated, and Bihler fled. Authorities searched for the assailant as details emerged of a decade-long, troubled servant-maid relationship.

Mrs Evelina Bliss a wealthy New York woman dies after declaring on her deathbed that she had been poisoned by a relative for money. The 50 year old separated wife of H H Bliss fell ill after a morning of clams and pie, lapsed into a coma and died. An autopsy suggested poisoning though the exact agent remained undetermined.
