State Secretary Breaks His Arm in North Adams Crash

Secretary of State Frank J. Donahue Senator John H. Mack of North Adams and Thomas Riley of Pittsfield were injured when thrown from an auto en route to a rally in Adams. Donahue has a dislocated left shoulder and a broken left arm. Mack sustained a broken left arm. Riley's skull fracture is feared and he was taken to North Adams Hospital.

At 64 Astor Street Back Bay residents were frightened when Michael Karila the building janitor in a drunken frenzy threatened the life of Charles E Butler the property agent.

Kamila Seized After Violent Assault in Fernhurst Raid

Kamila armed with an iron pipe and a revolver attacked agent Butler in the Fernhurst building at 11:30 pm, grazed his cheek with a shot, broke handcuffs during a hand to hand struggle, and was later captured by Back Bay police after a chase into the basement. Butler and Mrs Brown aided in the defense before Kamila was halted at Station 16.

One Killed Three Hurt in Train Wreck

Portland as shipyard workers Carimne Boossito Pasequale Porta Giovanni Marino and Renato Lucarriello were badly injured when a light engine collided with their work train in the Portland terminal company yard. The accident left one man fatally wounded and all victims residents of Portland.

Burdick campaign car crash injures several figures

Morton H Burdick Edward Hall and John OHearn Pittsfield journalist Harry Robinson were hurt when their seven passenger car veered after two rear tires blew at Hodge's crossing. O'Hearn and Senator Mack suffered broken ribs and arms while Secretary of State Donahue and others were knocked from the vehicle. Hall and O'Hearn recovered quickly and arranged medical aid. Burdick declined hospital care to continue campaigning.

Mrs Carman to Get New Trial in Murder Case

New York reports that Flor ence Carman, released on 25000 bail, seeks a new trial as District Attorney Smith plans to ask the appellate division to assign a new Supreme Court justice to preside. Carman, her lawyer George M. Levy and Dr. Carman plan to Raven Rock New Jersey to a farm owned by Levy and Carman where they raise hogs.
