Tufts Medical Student in Chloroform Suicide Attempt

Neil Kittredge Forhan of Canton Maine a fourth year student at Tufts Medical School drank chloroform in a club room at 2 Fencourt Back Bay last night. Classmates heard a groan and his body fall to the floor and he was rushed to City Hospital where doctors expected recovery. He is the son of well to do parents and lived with a Harvard student at 1112 Wellington Street.

Girl Ends Life by Throwing Under Train Wheels

Weston October 25 Miss Ethel Hardcastle daughter of Frank Hardcastle of New York City a patient under a nurse s care at Crabbington Lodge died tonight by throwing herself under the wheels of a train on the Boston and Maine tracks about 200 yards from the lodge.

Tragic Death Near Lodge Tracks Seeks Train Witnesses

A 26 year old woman with a nervous disorder vanished from a lodge while supervised by a nurse. After a rainstorm search by lodge staff and guests, she was found beside the railway tracks near Kendall Green, apparently struck by a passing train. No engineer recalls sighting her. She had been in Waltham four months under a nurse from New York.

Electric bolt hits L pole during western state thunderstorm

A western state thunderstorm swept into Boston last night at 8 with brilliant lightning. Newburyport saw flooded cellars and waterlogged streets while a bolt struck a Boston Elevated box on Meridian Street causing a brief blaze. The storm drenched Springfield and Worcester before veering north to Portland.

Dancers Death Triggers Panic at Arlington Ball

Frank Nicola age 62 of 82 Forest Street collapsed and died while dancing at the Knights of Pythias ball in the Arlington Auditorium causing a panic among guests as the party was in full swing. He was dancing with Miss Mildred Carleton when he fell, probably from apoplexy.

Death calls Mrs Brunner in Springfield

Mrs H Anna Brunner of Boston died in Springfield following a surgical operation. Aged 55, she was Massachusetts state organizer for the W G T U A and a national director of the local temperance region. She will be buried in Mt Vernon Missouri, home of a sister.

Lightning Sets Fires at Hicks House in Arlington

A thunderstorm struck Arlington tonight when a ball shaped bolt hit the Hicks home at Massachusetts avenue and Mt. Vernon street. It crawled around the roof shedding blue flames, entered the house through the chimney, and started about a dozen small fires which were quickly fought out by the occupants.
