Brown defeats Boston College 6 to 0 in Providence despite fielding seven substitutes and four varsity players. Hart of BC made a 60 yard run but was stopped by Pratt. Paine scored the touchdown and Richardson kicked the goal. The game ended early at darkness with Brown holding the ball near BC’s 20 yard line. Ground was wet and fumbles common. Brown earned the win with stronger second-half play.

The Harvard Athletic Association trials produced slow but close racing as upperclassmen were scarce and Tom Burke did not compete. Ferguson won the tight high hurdles over Fox by a fraction of an inch, while freshmen Boynton and Schweppe from Andover raced the 88-yard dash with Boynton taking the win in 2:07 1-5.

Races at Saugus drew a small crowd as all three events ended with clear winners. In a single scull relay race on the Charles River yesterday B A A won over Union Boat Club. Blake led for the Union in the first leg, Pope finished a length ahead for B A A. Wise trailed Henderson as the Unicorn fought back, Hardy faltered for the Union, and Horton and Florton’s boats closed the handicap. Wardwell of B A A started ahead in the final leg while Tudor closed the gap for Union.

Tom Evans’s Married Life and Silver Wedding

The twenty fifth anniversary of Captain Thomas C. Evans and Mrs Evans was celebrated last evening in Eagle Hall 616 Washington Street.
