Plymouth October 23 The defence in the murder trial of Mrs Jennie May Eaton opened with Attorney Francis J Geogan calling Admiral Joseph G Eaton a drunkard drug user and immoral man He claimed during the last illness and death of Mrs Eaton he was intoxicated at home and unable to attend the funeral His argument suggested his drug habits endangered lives and that letters would show him as a degenerate The defense hinted witnesses would portray the admiral as flirtatious and untrustworthy

Bandit William Dubois Surrenders After Four-Mile Chase

William Dubois, aged 17, led a boat mounted pursuit through Waltham Newton and Watertown in a bid to evade arrest. After bullets from pursuers and a shotgun wound, he surrendered while companion George Green escaped to the woods. Charles F Kimball, longtime Dedham educator and former Rice Grammar School sub master, died at his home aged 83.
