Fire at four story Bromfield Street building

A fire at 30 Bromfield Street damaged the Brett Engraving Company Bromfield barber shop and R Harris Co. photo graphic supplies. Discovered by a police officer at 12 30 am the blaze began in the second floor stairway spread to the roof. A car occupant overcome by smoke was revived by Lt Cosgrove and treated on the street.

Joan Hagerty a 46 year old longshoreman from Charlestown disappeared after a four day absence from Boston. He fell asleep aboard the steamer Juniata as it cast off and rode to Norfolk Va then returned on the steamer Howard to Boston arriving yesterday saying he had a real good time.

Italian prisoner stabs detective in Kittanning manhunt

In Kittanning Pennsylvania on October 22 Antonio Dusmaska an Italian tried to free two fellow countrymen He fatally stabbed Detective Charles Best of the Pittsburg Shawmut Northern Railroad and was shot and killed by the officer The prisoners were later taken to jail by another officer.
