Becker on Trial as Jury Fails to Hear His Story
The defense laments that Shapiro's late affidavit ties Becker to the murder plot and contradicts the defense theory that Walton and Schepps were the real killers. Becker hopes for acquittal despite revelations. Sullivan testifies that Rose Webber and others pressured him to corroborate false testimony. Rebuttal witnesses describe the murder car chase and threats to coerce Sullivan. The court allows limited questioning and adjourns for summation to continue next day.
