Chas. E. Hires Jr., 21, star halfback of Haverford College, was badly injured in a game with Lehigh at South Bethlehem. He was found in a dying condition at Bryn Mawr Hospital due to internal injuries after a flying tackle. His parents, Charles J. Hires and his wife, were at his bedside as doctors prepared an operation to save his life.
