The US coast guard cutter Acushnet hauled the disabled steamship Issequena into Halifax after aiding the Ammonoosic’s crew. Ammonoosic, bound Baltimore to Rotterdam with coal, was abandoned Oct 16 after flooding and engine failure. Issequena towed her to Boston, then took on Issequena when those pumps failed.
