Staged Murder by Sword Ends Milliner Hall’s Life
Larkin Wyman Hall, 35, owner of a Winter street millinery shop, was killed at No 2 St Botolph street around midnight Saturday night by a Japanese sword. Two Fort Warren artillerymen, Fred Watson and Eugene Sennett, 21, are jailed at Station 16. Watson claims Hall attacked him, dusk turned parry caused the blade to pierce Hall’s neck. A letter Watson allegedly wrote to Hall led to arrest. The men say Hall tried to stab Watson, who warded off the blow. Hall collapsed after the sword pierced his neck and thigh. The case moves to formal arraignment.
