Episcopalians in New York Convene Amid Debates
Bishop Knight presided as the Episcopal convention began a busy session in New York. Debates over a standard Prayer Book and liturgical revision dominated, with votes on postponements and near-unanimous calls for time management. A key address urged focus on social issues, while reports on missions and evangelization were laid aside or referred for later action. The Church Club hosted a Delmonico reception for delegates.

Freight Rate Decisions By Interstate Commission
The Interstate Commerce Commission declares lumber freight rates from Johnson City Tennessee to Boston at 33 cents per hundred pounds, finding shorter distance charges excessive due to limited local competition. It also upholds carload rate rules for cattle shipments from Missouri to Chicago as just and proportional, reaffirming federal supremacy in interstate commerce.
