Fire Sweeps Great Barrington Tenement District

A massive blaze in Great Barrington from 10 p m destroyed a tenement house near the railroad station along with the Kennedy Hotel and Miller House stables. The Hollenbeck block and Miller House burned as winds blew north, risking Railroad street stores. Losses estimated around 200000 dollars, with fears of telegraphic and telephonic isolation.

Fire destroys $40,000 in Epping property amid arson attempts

An incendiary blaze in Epping New Hampshire destroyed nearly 40 000 in goods after a shed behind George McCauley’s store was set alight. The fire spread to adjacent stores aided by wind. a Manchester steamer aided firefighting with two handtubs in town.
