In Medford on Oct 11 a burglar robbed the Burrill home on Revere place of about $1050 while the family was away. The cash was in a child's iron safe inside a handbag in a closet. a pocketbook with $50 also disappeared. Police worked through the night and expect to locate the money soon.
William J. Bryan and wife arrive in St Paul and attend Central Presbyterian Church service. Bryan meets supporters including Senator Wilson and Senator Tillman, while Representative Towne seeks Bryan help in Duluth as campaign outlines a northern itinerary through Wisconsin Michigan Illinois Ohio Indiana Illinois and Chicago before Nebraska.
Major McKinley spent a quiet Sunday in Canton with Mrs. McKinley visiting his mother and receiving a few callers including Murat Halstead and ex Congressmen Finlay. He said he feels well and will resume campaign work tomorrow amid hopeful reports from Michigan and the South about strong GOP support in Virginia West Virginia Maryland and Kentucky. Chicago election officials report McKinley ahead with 27 813 votes. Bryan 7941 and Palmer 747. Comparisons show Harrison 1892 2190, Cleveland 5413, McKinley gains 322. Illinois ballots are arriving and returns expected to be prompt and large.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Edward White Benson died at Hawarden while attending morning service as guest of Mr. Gladstone. He collapsed during the confession and died at 11 45 am of apoplexy. Benson, 67, had recently arrived from Ireland and was visiting Hawarden Castle.
Williams begins a Western campaign tour in support of Bryan and Sewall. He will visit Buffalo with D E McConville of the National Democratic committee, then speak in Wilmington Cincinnati Wheeling Baltimore Chicago and cities in Indiana Michigan and Minnesota.
