Henry P. Garrity aged 55 of 61 Roxbury Street died at Carney Hospital after joining a sailboat cruise despite five weeks of mild typhoid fever. The voyage with John N. McKay Malcolm McKay and Michael Cronin faced fog and a lost tender. Garrity fell overboard but was rescued. his condition worsened and he died days later.
The obituary notes Mr. Garrity who spent years in the wool trade in Boston and is survived by a widow and three sons James Frank J. and Harry P. Garity. The scene mentions a drifting tender and a man feeling all right before the event.

After two days behind she reached Boston Lightship and anchored until yesterday noon when a brief clearing allowed one hour of sailing before quarantine officials boarded and fog again postponed the voyage.
The tug Winnisimmet ferried inspectors to the Laconia but departed without loading wanderers. Inspectors remain aboard, others may land if weather improves. Captain Irvine logs little sleep on watch while Professor Maclaurin and Miss Alice Nielsen travel aboard.
