Old Indian Fighters to Parade in Columbus Day Event
A parade feature will honor more than twenty veteran Indian fighters who served under Crooks Bell and others during the early 1870s. Sergeant Peter Cusick of Dorchester will lead the detachment after 30 years in the U S Army. Construction begins on the Columbus Day court of review along Lafayette Mall with Temple Place to Boylston Street and Temple Place festoon decorations.

Dr John R. Slattery chief physician at St Elizabeths Hospital has been named Knight of the Holy Sepulchre by Pope Pius X. He told a Post reporter he was surprised and honored, noting he met the Jerusalem patriarch in Rome. He is the first Jayiman in America to receive the order, with Bishop Burke of Albany the only other American member. The order, founded in late antiquity, uses a white mantle and red cross and has three ranks.

Stolen money orders case ends with fines for two men
