Hazel Marshall Freed After Meredith Petition Hearing

Hazel Marshall was released from Manchester Industrial School after a Meredith town funded campaign charging illegal commitment. Testimony detailed guardianship disputes and alleged misuse by J Elwin Wright of the New Hampshire Child Welfare Association. Hazel planned to live with her sister in Medford.

Fiery crashes mar a famed aeronautics derby

Three fatal accidents mar an otherwise unusual air derby. Colonel Jerald Brandt and Sergeant W H Neville died after a nose dive near Deposit New York. Major D H Chrissey and Sergeant Virgil Thomas were killed near Salt Lake while attempting to land. Other landings eliminated several planes but no additional injuries occurred.
