Cincinnati left handers falter as Cicotte wins for Chicago 4 to 1 over Reds. Sallee struggles and errors late help Chicago pull ahead in the World Series race with game eight looming in Windy City.
Mayor Peters says the corporation counsel will represent former policemen in all duty related cases. Commissioner Curtis has reinstated 28 men who participated in the strike, though not on the first night, fueling hope for full reinstatement among strikers.
Ex Patrolman Patrick J. Coyne sought counsel in a case from which he was unrepresented. He appealed to James J. Devlin, secretary to the police commissioner, who refused counsel. The mayor affirmed the policemen's claim that justice requires reinstatement for those who did not join the strike.
Boston Elevated Company executives will distribute more than 600000 in back pay tomorrow under the Endicott award. About 20 members of the Boston Car Men's Union and other employees will benefit, with wages raised to as high as 60 cents an hour retroactive to May 1. Business Agent William J. Sixteen year old Hazel Marshall was ordered freed from the reform school after testimony before Governor Bartlett and his councillors. The hearing, unusual in New Hampshire history, was demanded by Meredith townspeople amid charges of pre arraignment scheming to send the girl to reform school with officers ready to take her there.

Mrs Reyburn described repeated maltreatment by her husband over four to five years, including a December 26 1918 choking and threats to shoot. Nurses and staff corroborated the incidents. Judge Reed said he would review the papers and consider the case.
