The White Sox erased a four run lead by Cincinnati and won 9 to 4 in ten innings. Kerr earned the win as the Sox rallied late to seal the game.
The King of the Belgians took the throttle of his own special train near Wauseon Ohio and ran the engine for 10 miles. He, with a solid knowledge of locomotive engineering, controlled the heavy train without a jolt before returning to his car.
Chicago Rooters encouraged believe their favorites still have chance. Gross receipts for sixth game, $101,768. Attendance 32,006. National commission figures show total receipts $101,708, commission share $10,176.80, clubs and leagues share $91,591.20.
Clinton, Oct. 7. Robert Flannagan five son of Mr and Mrs Patrick Flannagan of Stirling Junction was instantly killed this afternoon when the rear wheels of his father's auto truck passed over his chest after he slipped from a slippery upholstered seat cushion onto a country road under the car.

In Montpelier Vermont on October 7 jurors were being selected for the trial of George A. Long alias Wrath and Mrs Isabel Parker a 70 year old widow accused of fatally killing Mrs Lucina Courier Broadwell in Barre on May 3 1919. The State relies largely on circumstantial evidence and by today five jurors were tentatively chosen with a sixth seated despite objections by attorney J Ward.
Nearly 100 wives of American soldiers and sailors still in Great Britain will depart for the United States on a special boat around Oct. 18. They are scattered across England and Ireland and will be directed to Southampton to await the steamer. Army navy officials telegraph tomorrow. Many will bring one or two children. The YWCA and enlisted men's organizations will care for women and children awaiting departure.
The King traveling unofficially with his Queen and the Duke of Brabant passed through Ohio and Indiana today en route to California. Their train was halted for a full hour at Toledo, the home of Brand Whitlock.
In Burlington Vermont on October 7 14 year old George Irish son of Mr and Mrs George S Irish attempted suicide with his father s revolver after threats to shoot his parents. He wounded himself above the eye though not seriously and was found by his mother in his room amid loaded bullets.
Eighty planes launch at 9 AM in Mineola and San Francisco for a round trip 5402 mile coast to coast race. The event attracts famed U.S. air service pilots flying advanced planes with speeds over 100 miles per hour. Accidents have not been detailed in readable text.
Christiania Oct 7 National prohibition is approved by a general plebiscite in Norway. Premier Knudsen said he would resign if prohibition failed. The measure covers whiskey brandy and other strong liquors. Champagne wine and beer remain unaffected. US prohibition law loomed large in the campaign.
Archie Marshall age 22 died at Hardwick Vermont when his foot became stuck in a threshing machine on the Poor farm. His right leg was mangled and he died five minutes after surgeons amputated below the knee.
Police Commissioner Curtis announced that 673 men passed the tests for the citys new police force. Most are veterans and the group met both physical and mental exam requirements, leaving only swearing in before duty begins.
The commissioner had predicted a large turnout of young men seeking police work after the tests were eased. Striking officers say service men avoid Ford Hall in sympathy, while the commissioner asserts strict physical exams deterred applicants, noting yesterday's numbers were exceptionally high.
Charles J. French longtime mayor of Concord was defeated for renomination in the city primaries. Winners were City Clerk Henry Bb. Chamberlain and Alderman Michael J. Lee. Lee led French by 110 votes and Chamberlain led Lee by about 800 votes in nonpartisan ballots.

New York October 7 The Journal of the American Medical Association reports a severe recurrence of the Spanish influenza is unlikely this winter. It says at least 30 percent of those previously affected will be practically immune, with possible fall and winter cases.
