The Greenbrier at White Sulphur Springs joins the Plaza in New York and Copley Plaza in Boston as the railroad line’s latest hotel project. Arkansas Banker Arrested in Counterfeit Probe at Suffolk Jail

George M. Brown head of a publicity bureau for the Arkansas Bankers Association was arrested for passing counterfeit money and jailed in Suffolk County. He allegedly induced E. J. Lamb of New York to change Confederate bills. Brown protested innocence and was kept in a standard cell while supporters claimed a frame-up. A cheering crowd later welcomed his release.

Mackerel Harvest Boosts Italian Fleet at Lower Bay Market

The Italian motor dory fleet reports a rich mackerel harvest in the lower bay with ten boats selling large catches yesterday. Prices remain high as groundfish arrivals are few.
