Republican Sub-Committee Endorses Bore for Street Commissioner

Mayor Hart backed John P. Bore for street commissioner at the Republican municipal convention after a nearly two hour meeting of twenty five at the American House. Three dissenters opposed Bore, while Mayor Hart urged support for him and Jesse M. Gove relayed the Mayor’s wishes to the committee. The vote to report Bore's name to the convention passed quietly, with opponents citing party unity and potential rivals like Isaac F. Paul or W. W. Davis. Deputy Sheriff Campbell denied any quid pro quo linking Hart’s support to a future mayoral bid.
