Jewelry Seizure on Arrival of New York Steamer

Treasury agents and Secret Service boarded the New York on arrival and searched a woman identified as Miss M. Dorrance who had two trunks and a large portmanteau with chalk marks. They seized one trunk and the portmanteau for appraisal while another was sent to a hotel. The woman reportedly bought unset diamonds and jewelry from a Paris firm valued around five thousand dollars.

Deacon Studley Honored at Park Street Church

At Park Street Church yesterday morning Deacon Edward A. Studley received a large bouquet of pink roses for his eightieth birthday and almost sixty years of service. Pastor J. Withrow presented the flowers, with praise for his long devotion, as deacons Wyman and Butler bore the bouquet to him. Studley’s brother deacons also shared in the tribute.

Nourse Wins Suit Over Disappearance Linked Debt

Mrs Elizabeth M W Nourse of Milton, mother in law of Harry B Ball, a noted young club man and architect who vanished last September over alleged financial difficulties, has won her suit against Stephen Jennings. Jennings received a verdict of 2668.60 on two notes for 1500 and 1000 dollars, returned by the Superior Court in connection with Mrs Nourse's death.

Tenement House in Blackstone Burned on Bow Street

John Finn’s three story building on Bow street burned this morning in Blackstone. The tenements were unoccupied but in the basement was John Hogan’s butcher shop. Loss estimated at 3000 dollars, partially insured.

Forger y Charged in Boston City Tombs Case

Luke D Manuel is charged with forgery for signing the name of Paul Konjajian of Whitinsville to a release of all claims against the Boston Elevated Railroad Company. He allegedly received $10 for the act connected to a June 1899 accident. Konjajian, puzzled by Manuel’s involvement, had him arrested yesterday by Inspectors Malony and Robinson. Father Berger Adherents Meeting At St Anne’s

In North Brookfield on November 18 Father Berger preached at St Anne’s to an audience of 170 people. Captain Hall Drowned After Schooner Agate Grounds in Maine

The schooner Agate ran ashore on Tumby’s Island near Boothbay Maine. Captain Hall of Medford was struck in the foreboom and drowned. his body was found this afternoon.
