Harbor News Notes on Local Sailors and Incoming Cargo

The port sees few foreign square riggers with two expected vessels near arrival, the bark J H Bowers from Rosario with wool and hides and the Theodore H from Trapani with salt. Steam coal imports rise with the Symra delivering 3425 tons, totaling 27 838 tons this month, nearing last month’s 30 363 tons. The Maverick retraces a Halifax disaster, now under Captain Fenton en route to Portland after a barge drop, Atlas in tow with a barge. A small fleet docks at wharf for ground fish, while Admiral Dewey’s crew makes a brisk four day sixteen hour run to Portatonio. Jessel docks with bananas and citrus cargoes, and passengers from the Dewey disembark by tug.

Democratic Municipal Convention in Philadelphia Hall Nov 20 1900

The Democratic municipal convention will be held at Panentt Hall in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening Nov 20 1900 at 8 o'clock to nominate a street commissioner and school committee candidates and handle further business.
