Derby Connecticut November 17 Samuel H Lessey cashier of the Birmingham National Bank died by suicide in a vault at Oakcliff cemetery on the city outskirts yesterday. His body was found this morning in a coffin box with a bullet wound to the temple and a revolver in his hand. Bank accounts reported correct.

Drowning and Rescue From Squall Aboard Francis V Sawyer

The schooner Francis V Sawyer anchored off East Boston flats after a trip from Charleston. In a squall about 40 miles east of Charleston on Nov 8 John Johnson was knocked overboard by the foresail boom and drowned. Antonio Aalta was washed overboard but saved. Sailor Lost After Gale Rescued Deck Crew Carpenter

Johnson went overboard while tending tackle on the fore boom as a gale struck the schooner. Captain Duffy maneuvered to rescue him but he disappeared amid a smashed fore house and flooded hatches. Aalta was swept overboard but saved entangled in the main sheets. The Francis V. Sawyer delivered a lumber load for a local dealer named Johnson of Berlin, New Hampshire.

Stricken Newton Treasurer Dies After Hemorrhage

Robert E. Edes, 56, treasurer of Greenough Flexible Mechanical Joint Company, collapsed at M1 Milk street offices. He was rushed to Relief Hospital in Haymarket square and died at 9:30 PM.
