Senator Lodge deploys personal agents across the state to round up Republican lawmakers. Reports from the field are not encouraging, with only a fighting chance seen by some Republicans. Stock in Lodge rose as both ex-Governors Guild and Bates would not oppose his re election bid.
One of Senator Lodge s most prominent lieutenants has kept in touch with practically all members, signaling wide political outreach and influence within the group. The intermediary appears to coordinate lines of communication and relay key positions across the roster.
Fair weather expected for tomorrow as preparations proceed for J A D McCurdy to fly from the deck of the Hamburg American liner Pennsylvania fifty miles at sea toward Governor's Island. The Pennsylvania will sail at noon and the flight is set to begin about 3 PM.
