Widow inherits six million from English estate in Bridgeport

In Bridgeport on November 3 a solicitor notified Mrs. H. F. Stulz that she is heiress to six million dollars from the late Elisha Crowell of Bristol England. Crowell made a plush fortune and left a thirty million dollar estate. Mrs. Hilson, Stulz’s mother and Crowell’s granddaughter, and her children were present as heirs learned of the fortune and planned to travel to England soon.

Blind musician denies elopement with minister's wife

J W Maynard, a blind musician, refutes a previous report that he eloped with Mrs Ward of North Lyme Connecticut. He explains he boarded at the Ward home for five months, left October 23, and later met Mrs Ward while she traveled to visit friends in East Hartford.

Body of unknown sailor found near Castle Island

The decomposed body of a man presumed to be a crew member from the fishing schooner Two Forty was recovered by City Point life savers between Commercial Point and the L Street bath house. He was taken to City Hospital morgue. The six foot tall, 200 pound man wore a black sweater with two yellow stripes, black rubber overalls marked No. 1 J. Smith Scituate, Mass, rubber boots, and striped trousers. Identification was not possible.

Time changes on New Haven and Hartford Midland division

The New York New Haven and Hartford railroad announces timetable changes effective Monday Nov 6 for the Midland division. Boston to Dorchester trains depart at 6 44 and 6 01 pm with several intermediate stops. Dorchester to Boston trains leave at 7 29 and 7 59 am with corresponding stops.
