Two Severely Hurt In Streetcar Collision At Washington Dudley

A Norfolk House streetcar carrying passengers including a woman and a boy collided with an inward bound Forest Hills line at the corner of Washington and Dudley streets. Mrs Helen Wiedemann of 1419 Columbus avenue suffered severe neck and back injuries and was later sent home after treatment. The unknown boy sustained a knee injury. Train service was delayed as two cars were removed and at least twelve trains on the Western Division were held up including an express from Maine and the Medford branch.

Tracks Blocked After Freight Wreck Near East Somerville

Over two thousand people gathered in anger for about two hours last night near East Somerville station after a freight wreck on the Western division caused delays. Five empty gondola coal cars left a cross-over switch and were smashed as momentum pushed them back along the track. A brakeman, unnamed, was thrown from a street car and badly shaken. The incident blocked both inbound and outbound tracks of the Western division as part of a twenty five to thirty car train.
