Semaphore Signals At Accident Scene Question Rail Stop Distance

The wreck involved a passenger train of seven cars on a slippery rail. The semaphore wire was cut after the accident. Some argue the cut came from Engineer Parker’s body or by the passenger locomotive. Experts found the signals set at danger. John Flaherty’s body was taken by his uncle from Lynn and sent to Salmon Falls for burial. The committee will decide if a seven car train could stop in 200 yards from the semaphore to the scene.
