Corner Stone Laid For A C H Home In Roxbury

The Ancient Order of Hibernians celebrated the laying of the Roxbury division's corner stone for a $125,000 building in the South End Roxbury area. Over 5000 attendees heard speeches by Patrick J. Larkin and Congressman James M. Curley as flags and emblems framed the ceremony. The new building aims for occupancy on September 1.

The White Star liner Arabic under Captain Finch arrived from Portland Queenstown and Liverpool after a foggy passage. Passengers recalled a near collision on Wednesday evening when the ship almost halted to avoid another vessel. Officials denied any danger reports, saying no collision occurred.

Bail Jumper Salator Found in Fresno After Escape

Max Salator alias Harry J. Lewis, 23, who fled after a Superior Court bail jump, was taken into custody by local inspectors in Malden. Convicted in March 1911 for pocketing $29 and a $10 check from Pierce B. Brown at Sullivan Square station, the New York resident had been freed on bail before disappearing. A police circular led to his Fresno location.
