Governor Foss Rejects Wage Rise in Hyde Park Factories

A 55 minute conference at the State House failed to win a wage increase for workers at the Becker Milling Machine Company and the B F Sturtevant Blower Works in Hyde Park. Governor Foss insisted no raise would be granted, while union leaders criticized his open shop stance and called for arbitration and a mass meeting to decide on a possible strike.
