William P. Collins, a well known Boston businessman from Lally & Collins, died yesterday by self inflicted razor wound at his Roxbury home. A few weeks of mental derangement followed business reverses, leading to the fatal act after noon as his daughter found him. He was 45, born a New Englander, and rose from Jordan Marsh to lead the firm before its collapse. His wife, Hannah Lapham, is in New York. two children aged 17 and 15 survived.
