Real Arctic Eskimo Dogs Endure Pole Dash History at Boston Zoo
Boston's Franklin Park Zoo houses six Eskimo dogs that pulled Explorer Donald McMillan's North Pole dash. He brought them home after heat and crowds made them unhappy. Helen donated five puppies as thanks. The pack included the famed King Dog sire and a hardy grandmother noted as the gamest old lady alive, while one dog limped on three feet after a grueling 600 mile trek home.
