Irish leaders request talks on peace conference conduct

The letter traces events from April 17 when Colonel House asked for safe conducts for three Irish leaders to attend the peace conference. Lloyd George reportedly agreed but wanted a personal hearing with Irish American delegates first. After two tentative dates passed, House advised repeating through Secretary Lansing to the President, who is asked to grant a hearing. House later said the letter misstated his promise to provide safe conducts.
