Reports from Chicago dated May 20 describe cyclones sweeping across parts of moss and Wisconsin. Over 100 believed killed and 300 to 500 seriously injured with hundreds of buildings destroyed and crops ruined. Racine suffered extreme damage as frame houses collapsed and debris filled streets. The storm moved along Lake Michigan with flying water spouts and widespread devastation including trees uprooted and barns lifted. Fatalities range from 10 to 30 with Mayor Fish citing 13 and several missing. Financial losses estimate at $30,000 in Stauntin and $35,000 near Edwardsville.
A Friday night cyclone devastates towns across central Illinois and Missouri. Numerous fatalities include Mrs. Van Nostrand and Mrs. Van Nostrand’s sister, with dozens injured. Rail line wrecks, destroyed homes, and broad property loss push total damage above 3 million dollars.

A Chihuahua note reports sixty Indians entering from the United States near Carnaron the 8th. At Wayne's pass they killed and beheaded a man, then carried the head for miles. They also killed Mexicans at San Lorenzo Buena Ventura and San Tinazo. Capt Jones leads a pursuing force. Chief Chata commands the raiders. Another detachment was sent from Casa Grande. The band moves toward the Sierra Madre.
In New Haven on May 20 an 8 year old boy, Frank Maher of 23 Hallock Street, fell into a sewer by the Derby railroad. Officer Nicholas lowered a rope to him, the boy too weak to grip. The officer made a noose and the boy placed it over his shoulders, being hauled out near exhausted to his relieved parents.
At Chippewa Falls a confrontation occurred when Omaha workers attempted to cross the Wisconsin Central track while a Central train was backed up. A workman was killed. Sheriff Everett halted the riot. The Central obtained an injunction returnable May 25, which Omaha lawyers say is inapplicable and likely will be ignored.
A Salvation Army detachment led by Capt. Victor Palmer Capt. J Lyons Miss Capt. Lottie Collier Lieut. Joan Boville and Private Mrs William Schmidt spoke in New Haven Conn May 20 drawing 2560 in the afternoon and 4000 in the evening at the old state house. They plan to stay in the city for several months.
At a Philadelphia meeting the Parnell branch of the Irish National League adopted resolutions endorsing a national tribute to Charles Stewart Parnell and authorized sending 500 dollars to Archbishop Feehan of Chicago to be added to the Parnell fund there.

On Saturday May 12 Elizabeth Logan of 51 Calvert Street Roxbury is assaulted by Daniel Johnson at his residence 54 Calvert Street. Police note the alleged attacker lives at 54 in Roxbury and investigate.
