In the Senate yesterday Mr. Kelcher of Boston asked for reconsideration of the vote passed whereby the Senate refused to pass resolutions in favor of popular election of United States Senators. The Senate granted his request, and the resolutions will go over until Tuesday next in order to get a more decisive vote.

Minister cites Postum over coffee for health benefits

A minister, Rev. David T. Robertson, tests Postum Food Coffee as a coffee substitute. He claims it cured his stomach and dyspepsia and improved his family’s health, noting his wife and servant stopped coffee and prefer Postum. He urges trials of ten days or two weeks.

Shorten Session Aims for Double Daily Legislative Meetings

Chairmen of House committees met to plan a shorter session. A motion by Mr Saunders of Boston urged two sessions daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Evening sessions were suggested but reserved for the closing week if needed. National Freight Agents Plan Boston Convention

The thirteenth annual convention of the National Association of Local Freight Agents will be in Boston June 12 to 16. New members arrive June 1 at Faneuil Hall with subregion meetings. Headquarter hotel is the Brunswick. Events include a dinner at Danaskett Beach and a moonlight pageant at Frederick House, with refreshments for delegates and wives. The Boston Cadet Band will accompany. Mayor and dignitaries will speak. President is M Townsend of the Pennsylvania Railroad. About 600 delegates expected.
