Plan for Washington Street Subway Proposed by Mr Schofield

Mr Schofield of Malden yesterday offered a new Washington street subway plan. It would run between near the Washington street and Broadway junction and Haymarket square, with city building the line, financing up to 6000 dollars over forty years at four percent outside the debt limit, under Transit Commission supervision. The city would lease to the Boston Elevated Road if desired, or to other parties on the same terms.
