MIKADO Opera by Cathedral Choir at St Alphonsus Hall

The Cathedral of the Holy Cross choir staged The Mikado at St Alphonsus Hall last night before a large audience. James M. O'Brien sang Mikado with John F. McDevitt as Nanki Po o Yum Yum starred Miss Louise MacHugh, and William A. Hazelboom played Ko Ko. Francis X Mahoney was Pooh Bah and John D O Connor Pish Tush. Several young ladies filled Pitti Sing and Peep Bo and Tisha roles. The production featured about fifty chorus girls and a dozen men. Robert Evans led the stage management and J T Whelan was musical rector.

Council Votes to Receive Boer Delegates in Boston

Boston Common Council approved an Aldermen concurrence to entertain Boer peace envoys with a funded reception program. The vote 48 to 17 included 10 Republicans joining Democrats, while debates on council rules and order maintenance dominated the meeting. Adah Richmond Case Sparks Testimony in Stetson Will Fight
