Schoolroom Tragedy Ends In double Fatality at Jefferson School
Washington May 17. Mrs Sarah E Allen a third grade teacher at Jefferson public school was shot by her husband Oswald C Allen who then killed himself. He had threatened her after she left him for his dissipated habits. The tragedy occurred before dismissal as children watched in horror. Mrs Allen died soon after and her husband expired minutes later. Mrs Allen's maiden name was Johnson. Her father R W Johnson is a longtime local resident.
