A heavy May storm hit Ou Crry Pennsylvania at 1 30 am igniting an oil well on Hancock farm near Nor way destroying its tank and burning Rouseville Methodist Church with losses around 20000. In Tirrin Ohio a southwestern county storm caused unroofed homes barns blown fences and crop damage in Berwick Bascomb and surrounding areas with damage in the thousands.
Yesterday morning the body of laborer William P. Coleman was found on the flats at Portsmouth New Hampshire. A coroner s jury viewed the body and adjourned until Tuesday.

Mrs Maybrick of Liverpool, a niece of Jefferson Davis and French Canadian aristocrat by birth, has been arrested on charges of poisoning her husband with arsenic. Magistrate ordered transfer to Kirkdale jail where doctors and a nurse attend her. Arsenic found in beef tea and in a bottle. Case has caused a sensation.
In Paris on May 19, delegates from American republics at the exhibition hosted a banquet for the French cabinet. Premier Tirard and ministers attended as did Mr. McLane who presided, with remarks on promoting industrial activity and friendship. Spuller and Argentine and Mexican ministers spoke. most European ambassadors ignored the invitation.
Last evening Henri Rochefort was approached on Regent street by M Pilotel angered by his statements. Rochefort alleged he attempted to frighten the man with a revolver but was restrained, as police quickly intervened. The leather gun case remained on the weapon during the incident.
A policeman detained Rochefort and escorted him to Vine Street police station. M Pilotel leveled charges of murder ous and deadly assault. General Bou langer then met Rochefort and they shared an emotional moment. Rochefort must appear in court tomorrow.
The Lyons assizes sentenced American burglars Guerrin and Dennin to ten years each for robbing the Société Lyonnais. Flooding in Austria causes high fatalities as dykes break and towns flood. Little Rock reports A M Neely the Black leader in Forest City was killed after a gunfight that followed a packing of a school board election. Sheriff Izard lured Neely out with safe conduct, Neely hid under floor then was shot. Gov Eagle and Adjutant General England prepared troops if needed. Neely, Republican leader, opposed white candidates for the school board and sought control of local politics.
Wasu Hinaton May 19 reports Army orders: Captain Douglas M. Scott commissary of subsistence is to relieve Captain William F. Spurgin of treasurer and quartermaster and commissary of cadets at the military academy. Major Richard Combs is granted four months' leave and Captain Aaron H. Appel receives a twenty day extension of leave.

New Orleans May 19 T A Clayton chairman of the joint committee of the Farmers National Alliance Cooperative Union of America and the National Agricultural Wheel of America says a Birmingham report about a jute bagging compromise has no foundation. He states they told the jute bagging people they would not use it even if offered at five cents per yard. He adds they have contracted for about 12 000 000 yards of cotton bagging to cover the next crop and expect about a quarter of the cotton raised this year to be wrapped in this, and that none of the 1890 crop will be covered by jute bagging.
The Army Manufacturing Company in Parnaperpura has assigned for creditors to H. Gordon McCouch after liabilities of 340000 with assets estimated at 400000. The firm, linked to Almy and partners, faced slow business and fierce competition, with wool tariffs cited as the main cause of its collapse. Frederick Almy & Co. acted as New York commission house, extending about 100000 in advances.
New York reports Captain Shaw of the steamer Delta says Hippolyte's forces won two battles, one near St. Marc and one inland, both before May 10. In Indiana, delegates from black coal mines reject operators' demand for 20 cent cut, with a strike expected today.

News from Portiano Oregon reports eleven sailors from the foundered steamer Alaskan reached Florence near the Sinslaw River mouth. After abandoning ship they endured waves and exposure, attempting to land at Cape Perpetua before swimming ashore. One man died after two nights and three days at sea. four survivors are ill from saltwater. They survived on six cans of peaches during the ordeal.
