Eleven Face Murder Charges In Prager Lynching Trial
In Edwardsville Illinois on May 13 the trial of 11 men on murder charges tied to the April 5 Collinsville lynching of Robert Paul Prager enemy alien began. Sixteen defendants were named including four policemen. one civilian suspect remained at large. Joseph Riegel admitted leading the mob. Jury selection started after Judge Bermreuter overruled a motion to quash.

Woman Sues for 10000 Over Shooting on Maine Highway
Mrs. Marcia M. Burbank of Parsonfield sue s Walter A. Peterson of Lynn in Essex County Superior Court claiming he shot her with a gun while she rode with her husband along a public highway at Shapleigh York County on November 30 1917. She says bullets wounded both legs and she has been bedbound and unable to walk.
