Fire Breaks Out In Badger Building On Albany Street

A $40,000 blaze struck the fourth floor of the Badger Building between Wareham and Plympton last night at 7. Foreman Ross Watts first spotted the flames and Levi Hudgins sounded Box 77. The fire, aided by laundries on the upper floors, burned fiercely but was brought under control after four alarms. The Albany street section survived largely due to a two‑foot party wall. The incident drew police and 40 firemen to guard onlookers as a dramatic runaway wagon and two boys caused a street spectacle near Washington and Dover streets. The building houses multiple firms including Union Coat and Apron Supply, Gordon Manufacturing, and several laundries on Albany and Plympton streets.
