William Mahoney of Cambridge shot his wife Myrtle after hiding weapons in their home at 34 Spring Street East Cambridge. She survived with injuries to the hand and neck, while Mahoney killed himself. Neighbors described habitual drunkenness and quarrels. The wife, after hospital treatment, cared for their two children with assistance from Mrs. White.
