Dr Sydney J Armstrong surgeon on the steamship City of Berlin died in Jersey City at age 27 from taking morphine. Son of an English clergyman, Edinburgh University graduate, employed by Inman Steamship Co. He left a farewell note to a friend before death. Body removed to Speers morgue.

A bank run at Anoka Minnesota yesterday pulled nearly 20000 from the Anoka National Bank. Farmers withdrew most of the money while businessmen continued depositing. The run stems from panic after the Pratt embezzlement and rumors of the lumber business closing.
