Cook Wife Chased Him Home in Divorce Libel Trial
In East Cambridge court, Walter Cook a former Harvard instructor testifies he wept when served with a divorce libel. He accuses his wife of cru el and abusive treatment and says she instigated the action with Eric Greenfield, a Purdue German professor and her former husband. He details marital strife, control over finances, and a visit by Greenfield to discuss the case. He denies threats or violence, though notes nagging and jealousy. The trial continues with witnesses including the wife’s mother and others describing household tensions.
