Yale varsity eight defeated the second eight by three lengths while freshmen rowed in a fast quarter, and Abbott called this week’s condition excellent for the 1922 oarsmen. The second varsity race was canceled. varsity eight starts at 4:30, freshmen at 3:30 with the two famed eights following.

New York May 1 stock market extended a full session above one million shares as gains led by shippings oils and motors with Atlantic Gulf at a new high of 151. Texas Company Royal Dutch and Mexican Petroleum showed mixed results while food shares rallied with Beet Sugar United States Food Products and Cotton Oil posting 1 to 3 point gains. Walrus Delivers Largest Groundfish Load At Boston Wharf
The steam trawler Walrus brought in 230 300 pounds of groundfish the largest daily catch so far this week, among 13 vessels reporting. Mary Ellen carried 4100 pounds of flounders, while trawlers delivered 9800 pounds of halibut 29000 pounds of cod 575 pounds of cask 200 pounds of catfish 1100 pounds of pollock and 300 pounds of hake.
