Trains Collide Near Haynes Illinois Two Die

A head on collision on the Belt line near Haynes Illinois between two passenger trains from St Louis and Jerseyville fatally injures a porter from Jerseyville and a baggage man. Engineers and firemen escape with minor injuries as air brakes allegedly fail. Passengers are hurled and cars are smashed in the wreckage.

Spiritualists Celebrate Massachusetts Union Anniversary

The Massachusetts Union of Spiritualists marked its anniversary yesterday at the YMCA Hall on Ashmooton Street. Three sessions in morning, afternoon, and evening drew large crowds as Dean Clark Mrs N J Willis and F P Blynch delivered discourses. A fine musical program was heard with vocal and instrumental artists. Mediums conducted fire and ballot tests during the event.

Longshoreman Falls At Lewis Wharf Injures Leg

John Gallagher a 21 year old longshoreman living at 328 Commercial street fell fifteen feet on the deck of a schooner at Lewis wharf yesterday afternoon breaking his right leg between the knee and ankle. He was taken to the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Major Donovan commanded the Ninth Regiment in Cuba and led its return to the city where Governor Walcott named Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence J Logan as colonel. Tragic Mass Day Crossing Fatality at Dorchester Rail Crossing

Mrs Mary McColgan aged 50 was struck and killed by the Campello express at the Freeport street crossing near St. Peter's Church Dorchester while walking to Holy Thursday mass with friend Mrs Bridget Hunt who narrowly escaped.
