Italians on trial for passing counterfeit five dollar bills
Two of five Italians charged with distributing counterfeit five dollar bills faced jury selection in U S District Court before Judge Lowell. De Salvo and Mazucci, both residents of the North End, are charged with sale of counterfeit money to secret service agents on Feb 20 and related transactions. Witness Leonardi testified Musco, introduced as Angello, joined the group and bought counterfeit notes for $2 each, with further sales documented on Feb 24.
